Within the project Centrality of the territories, from 2014, was activated a pilot project that focuses on the territory of the Parco delle Orobie Bergamasche (Bergamask Orobie Park) and its peripheral areas with a view to enhance and promote the natural and cultural resources s-Low and encourage the entrepreneurial propensity , at the dual scale, international and local.
At the European level, the pilot project is linked to the European network already established by the universities that have signed with the University of Bergamo the Framework Partnership Agreement in the context of the inter-university network s-Low (University of Bergamo, Université de Compiègne, Anglia Ruskin University, Haute École Provinciale Hainaut - Condorcet, Universitat de Girona, Fachhochschule Lübeck - University of Applied Sciences, Univerdad de Cantabria) to integrate proposals to internationalize the Park.
At the local level, the research team, consisting of Senior and Junior Researchers and students of the Master in Planning and Management of Tourism Systems, is conducting a study on the resources (natural and cultural) in the area of the Parco delle Orobie Bergamasche, dynamized through systems of micro-entrepreneurship (accommodation, catering, etc.) and sustainable mobility projects, to study and promote a regeneration of the protected area in a sustainable perspective, promoted by the event Expo 2015.
Among the cultural resources are considered the heritage sites related to production activities, eco-museums, museums, memorial sites and other historic buildings.
Among those natural, attention is placed on the sites of the Natura 2000 Network (Sites of Community Importance and Special Protection Areas) and other protected areas, as well as on other items of value, such as, rivers, waterfalls, caves, ravines, trees and monumental works of land art.
For resources of micro-entrepreneurs are selected tourist facilities, both accommodation and restaurants, according to the criteria of quality, sustainability and authenticity, so special attention will be given to quality labels and membership consortia or networks of various types. In the restaurant business, are selected companies that promote gastronomic culture and local products.
About sustainable mobility, finally, are identified resources such as the main trail, the cycle paths, the heritage paths, the ancient trackways, the railway network.
The results of this research will be capitalized through systems of mapping within the smart technologies.
