Tommaso Minola is Assistant Professor (tenured) at the Department of Management, Information and Production Engineering (DIGIP), and co-founder and Director of the Center for Young and Family Enterprise (CYFE) at the University of Bergamo. In his research, he is interested in studying how different dimensions of the enterprising individual (e.g., motivation, cognition, behavior) and of the entrepreneurial firm (e.g., goals and resource allocation) are affected by embeddedness in social contexts. In particular, he looks at the family and the university as contexts particularly relevant for venture creation, development and performance.

Tommaso has been visiting researcher, amongst others, at University of Cambridge (UK) and University of St. Gallen (Switzerland). He has also been TOFT Visiting Professor at Jonkoping International Business School (Sweden). He has established several research collaborations, mainly across Europe and US. His works have been published in leading academic journals in innovation, entrepreneurship and small business, such as Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Small Business Economics, Journal of Small Business Management, Entrepreneurship and Regional Development, The Journal of Technology Transfer and R&D Management.

Tommaso has also developed an extensive experience in teaching and designing educational activities in entrepreneurship, innovation and technology management, at undergraduate, graduate and executive level. He is scientific director of Start Cup Bergamo and Go.In', two executive education programs for entrepreneurs. He has also supported several start-ups, SMEs, and family firms - especially in high-tech sectors or resulting from university technology transfer - through advisory and mentoring programs. He has also extensively engaged in and has coordinated different policy-oriented research projects.
